Inspiration from Heidi, Card Extraordinaire"

A good friend of mine Heidi, is a Stampin Up demonstrator and holds card making classes each month. I have had the opportunity to gather a lot of inspiration from her! The cards below are from sketch challenges she has posted as well as cards she designs and we get to make. Check out her blog if some creative inspiration is needed!

The first 2 cards are from sketches she has supplied for the gals in her monthly stamp club.

I created this card using things my mom purchased for my birthday surprise!!

Another fun sketch challenge.
Next is a card we completed at one of Heidi's card nights. It is so fun to make cards someone else has done all the work for. Then I can chat with the other ladies and enjoy a fun night of crafting.
Finally my favorite!! I requested Heidi show us how to make an easel card for our monthly stamp club. Of course Heidi went above and beyond to create an amazing card to show us the technique.

First the view from the card when it is closed. Second is when it is opened!
Aren't these amazing cards!! I am so glad to have Heidi as an inspiration for cards and for a friend!

Sympathy Cards

A very close friend of my mothers has a wonderful ministry where she makes stuffed bears out of clothing from someone who has passed away. These bears are a labor of love as she does not charge for them and they are all hand sewn. I had the opportunity to see one she was making and it was the most beautiful thing I have ever seen. Maybe it was the amount of love put into creating it, maybe it was the precious gift of having it made from "Grandpa's" favorite shirt, but it melted my heart to see the workmanship that was put into something so special.

I feel blessed and honored that Cheryl asked me to make cards to send along with the bears. I love knowing my cards will be added to her work of art to comfort someone who is going through a tough time.

Over the past month I have been working on making 50 sympathy cards to accompany the bears. I thought I would show you pictures of the cards. Many were done in duplicate so there wont be 50 pictures, but there will be several. Enjoy!

Friendship Card

The Paper Players has created another color challenge. I always think the color challenges will be the easiest, however they really challenge me to think...Don't I say that every week!

The colors this week are Not quite Navy, Pool Party and Certainly Celery.

I have to admit, I did not realize that until writing this post. I thought it was Night of Navy. Oops...Fortunately I was able to recreate the card without too much effort. Now I have 2 beautiful cards to show you.

The first one is the one using the correct colors for the challenge...

The second card is using Night of Navy instead of Not Quite Navy. I have to say I like the colors of the color challenge better then the bold Night of Navy!
Card Recipe:
Stamp Set: Triple Flower Treat, Tea Shoppe
Cardstock: Night of Navy, Not Quite Navy, Pool Party, Certainly Celery
Ink pad/markers: Night of Navy, Not Quite Navy, Pool Party, Certainly Celery
